Twilight Tennis

One of the institutions at Shepparton Lawn Tennis Club is the twilight competition. The Pre-Christmas commences in late October and runs until mid December. The matches are held on Wednesday evenings commencing from 5:30pm. Teams consist of 4 men or 4 ladies and each player plays two sets of doubles. There are separate draws for men and women in this competition.

The Post-Christmas competition is mixed and each team consists of 2 men and 2 ladies.The season commences the first week of school in the new year and concludes in March. Each player plays one doubles and one mixed on the night.

The cost is $60 per team per season and all players must be members of the club.

The Wednesday evenings are very social and children are welcome to attend with their parents. A barbecue operates from about 6:30pm and sausages, hamburgers, chicken steaks and salad are available. The bar is open to provide a refreshing beverage. Many a great tennis shot has been discussed in depth as people wine and dine on the terrace. A great way of meeting new people. Our central location means that many participants come straight from work and change at the club before commencing play.
